Therapeutic Exercise Training

Patients that come to physical therapy all have a personal goal they want to achieve and a common need, to move more efficiently. At Oakland Physical Therapy we integrate our advanced manual therapy treatment with our therapeutic exercise programs by assessing and treating using “The Human Movement System” approach using specialized stabilization and movement principles. This integrated treatment approach will help you move more efficiently, allowing you to reach your functional and performance goals of returning to the things you want to do.

Each new patient’s movement is evaluated within their initial evaluation and appropriate movement training begins in the initial physical therapy session and continues, progressing, throughout the entire plan of care experience.

To evaluate and treat the “movement system” we the Gyrotonic Expansion System®, the Stott Rehabilitation Pilates Method and the “Functional Movement System” in addition to traditional therapeutic exercise methods.
